Modern Retro

A family living in Kumpula, Helsinki, renewed their kitchen in 1950s style with a modern approach. We made a solid wood kitchen based on the customer's plans. Lipped doors, wooden handles, dish cabinet sliding doors and brush painting bring the spirit of bygone times. The thick solid wood worktop partly ties the kitchen to modern times.

Special requests were higher worktop and splashback suitable for tall residents. From an old cabinet we implemented an island according to the customer's wishes, which has both storage space and a place for two diners.
